      Thanks , It would be nice to have a thread on starting a private practice from people who went out on there own. Residency is great on teaching medicine but fails poorly on teaching how to run a business.

            Good work Mel, I read that journal too, Physician's practice is another good oneThe copy in print is a lot better than their web site tho'

                although not Ob-Gyn, I like "Family Practice Management".
                It's a throwaway I get. Pretty much all practice related articles.
                Plus it's free CME! Usually 3 credits, sometimes as much as 6, in a self-test at the end of each monthly issue.

                        AMA used to have a very timely checklist, just for the little "nuts and bolts" things that a lot of people forget about--phone ads, state narcotics things, hospital privileging, etc. Also was offered free, even to nonmembers back when I went into solo practice out of residency. Worth a click or a phone call.

                            Here is a site thathas a few hundreds forms, new patient information forms, superbills, E&M templates, Medicare ABNs, Medicare 855 applications, letters to insurance carriers, fee schedules, etc... and it's all free. http://www.donself.com
