Could it be the next big blockbuster??? :)
It's no secret, I am not a Microsoft fan. I believe OS X has a viable future in healthcare, along with Linux.
I teamed up with OpenEMR - and (for you Mac OS X docs) now have OpenEMR-X ready for download - free - and open source.
Have your web based EMR under Mac OS X up and running in under 5 minutes.
Using the X-SYS Engine (developed by me) it also has the ability for speech recognition and dictation. The physician can train the voice recognition software and have it automatically transcribe information in to the medical record, or, it can record raw audio and be transcribed via transcriptionist while retaining the original audio within the medical record.
And last but not least - the X-SYS Life Record (not yet available, but seeking physicians who would like to guide development) - which takes full advantage of the entire X-SYS engine (voice, video, etc).
Both OpenEMR-X and X-SYS Life Record are 100% web based Mac OS X applications - provided for free.
OpenEMR-X - http://www.openemrx.com
X-SYS Life Record - http://www.liferecord.com
(If this is considered soliciting, I will stop - I just want to promote all free EMR applications (not just mine, but Al's, Ozzie's, PennFirm's) to help docs make the best decision they can for their practice)
