Regarding Alteer,
Dont walk, RUN away (That is, if you have not purchased yet).
Alteer has chosen for a number of reasons, to change their business model. They have been unable to make a profit even during their significant growth the last two years. As a result, they are changing their model to one that sells their software bundled along with them doing practice management/billing/collections for medical groups. They are only doing this in California, and have been given 12 months to make it work by their VC’s. They have ceased selling the software outside of California, fired their entire sales force outside of CA, and reduced their support staff. They were also very clear with me (I talked to Jeff Fisher, VP of Development) that their development of the software would almost exclusively be geared towards collections and billing, as that is how they will make money with their new model.
Needless to say, a company does not make these kinds of changes (And turn their backs on the practices outside of California) unless they are in financial trouble. In my opinion, Alteer as we know it now will most likely not be around in 12 months.
If you need anymore info, feel free to contact me through my email link on this forum.
