We are considering an EMR for our 5-physician OB group, where do we start?

Check the FAQ here on this board.
Write down a list of things you expect the EMR to do for you - functions, efficiency, reduction in staff, financial expectations, workflow changes, devices, type of network, paperless/scanning.
The best implementors are able to measure these things before and after.
Make sure your group agrees on the major functions/expectations
This way you have an angenda, not the vendor's agenda.
Grill any providers (in any specialties) in your area that have started or completed EMR.

I am also considering an EMR, though I am not sure it will be worth it at this time. I have been learning on this discussion board.

Welcome to Docsboard Gyndoc & Sweaner.
Please do your homework, allow a few months to get as much info about the product and company as possible (from independent sources) before you decide. The industry is in flux, with possible new standards coming out, you want to be sure the product will be compliant.
Sweaner, what on earth is that in the jar?
