Siemens offers a total hospital wide solution for patient care. It seems to be catching on.
Siemens is a $74 billion dollar company based in Germany and Pennsylvania.
One hospital claims a $720,000 per year bottom line profit from reduction of expenses plus increased patient flow.
I do not know if it allows doctor's office to link in.

So much for the assurance of CCHIT certification...
I dislike the Siemens system at our hospital system. It is very buggy and crashes frequently. Printing is a nightmare. Remote access rarely works on most computers as it will only work on older versions of Internet Explorer which are unsafe for web surfing due to security flaws. I would stay away from it.
