New scheduler recommendations?

The PM I currently use for scheduling (only, no billing) will not make the transfer to a new server. Need a cheap replacement. I am thinking about buying some cheap package with an EMR and or billing in it just to get the scheduler. Any thoughts, especially any you would avoid?? Thanks in advance.

We are using Anytime scheduler off the shelf in our office it cost us about 75.00 for 3 computers.

I have been using it for 4 years. Early on I used the scheduler that comes with Medisoft the single user. When we wanted to add another station to shcedule patients we had the choice of getting medisoft 2 user license for 2000.00 or the Any time for under 100.00. I went with the Anytime and have been satisfied since.

Amazingchart is an inexpensive EMR. I am just using the scheduler. Easy to use, easy to learn, and combining with the free Logmein.com program, I can schedule from home, second office, or anywhere. I have version 2.7, which cost about $300 a few years ago - it worked perfectly. You can also use it as an EMR, which many physicians are doing. They do interface with an e prescribing program, but not yet seemlessly.

If you are just using it as a scheduler like myself, then you don't have to pay the $500 a year tech support fee. Just keep a bunch of disc ready, as occasionally you'll have to reload to base program. We have not had any trouble since moving the database to the back, where we don't mess with it.

The e prescribing cost an extra $400, but I think it wouldn't be perfected till later next year.

I don't think you'll find an easier scheduler than this.

Sounds a bit pricey to me, and how do they handle privacy concerns with appointments on Google, does Google sign Business Associate Agreements?
Text messages although now widely used arent HIPAA compliant by the way

Plain text SMS messaging isnt secure, how are you going to get written permission to communicate using unsecure means from EACH patient?
If a patient emails you, you can reply indicating regualr email is not secure and if they wish to continue this means of correspondence you are in the clear.
The new revisions to HIPAA no w place more burden on Business Associates to also comply

How advanced is the OpenEmr scheduler, I have not tried the software in ages, downloaded their Virtual Appliance the other day, gave a cusrosy look, runs really well under Windows XP. I had found OpenEMR to run too slow in Windows on a slow processor to be useable
